1.  What is Online Support

Online support, also known as remote computer support allows our experts to remotely fix most computer problems via “desktop sharing technology”. This means you log in to our secure online support centre and our experts can interact with your computer remotely via the web and you can sit back and watch your computer being fixed.

2.  Is it Secure ?

Absolutely! By logging into our online support centre, you are initiating a 128-bit encrypted connection between your computer and our expert’s computer. (This is the same technology and security level that is used by Banks, Credit Cards companies etc.) Once the computers are remotely linked it is a One-to-one session that can not be accessed or viewed by anybody else. This ensures your security and privacy.

3.  Am I still in control of my computer?

Yes. During the session you are completely in control the whole time. You are the only person who can initiate a session by logging in and you can end a session at any time by simply closing the support window. Furthermore, you still have control of your mouse (cursor). During a session you will see our expert using the cursor to locate and fix problems, but, at any time, you can override this by simply moving your mouse.

4.  Can you log back into my computer once my session is over ?

No. Not until you authorise another session and log back in. When you use our service you will be prompted to download a temporary desktop sharing application and supporting tools. These allow us to interact with your computer. When you log off or simply close this temporary application it is automatically deleted from your computer. We can no longer interact with, or access your computer.

5.  Is your work gauranteed ?

Yes. Our computer repair service is guaranteed for 5 (five) days. If you subsequently encounter the same problem within 5 days of the original session, you must notify us immediately and we will work to remedy the problem quickly and professionally.

6.  Is it easy to use ?

It’s simple! By using our service, our experts can link to your computer through the Internet and fix it directly. You can just sit back and watch or even work on something else whilst we get your computer back up and working.

7.  Can you support my old computer ?

Yes. But we can only support computers that are running Windows 98 or newer. However, computers operating on Windows 98/ME/2000 are generally more than 5 years old which makes it more difficult to correct and prevent problems and will lead to longer support sessions. If your computer or operating system is more than 5 years old, we would recommend purchasing a new computer.

8.  I've got an Apple Macintosh, can you support it?

No. Not at the moment. However, we are working on this and hopefully we will be able to extend our service to Apple Mac users soon. Please keep checking back for information or register your interest on mac@gotapal.com and we will let you know when this service is ready.
